Job summary

Extended Stay America in Columbus, OH seeks a Part-Time Night Service Representative to support overnight operations. You will handle guest check-ins, keys, safety concerns, and on-call requests with professionalism while ensuring security and quality service.

You will live onsite in staff housing and join the overnight on-call schedule, ready to respond within about 30 minutes to emergencies or access issues as needed.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Document events in writing and prepare routine correspondence.
• Operate the hotel mobile phone.
• Speak effectively before groups of customers; proficient in reading and speaking English.
• Computer skills including MS Office Suite and the Hotel PMS system.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and handle issues under pressure.
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
• Basic math skills including calculations and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Attend to guests upon call notification from outside service agent for check-ins, emergencies, noise complaints, and safety incidents.
• Maintain control of all hotel keys and safeguard against mishandling or theft.
• Log keys in and out when necessary.
• Organize, confirm, process, and conduct limited guest check-ins/check-outs, greet and register guests, assign rooms, issue keys, and collect payments as needed.
• Keep abreast of hotel policies, training, and safety procedures.
• Report all safety, guest and security concerns per policy.
• Provide guests with directions and information about amenities, services, hours, and local areas of interest.
• Perform bookkeeping activities such as logging events, running reports, and posting payments to folios.
• Maintain proficiency in location computer and software systems.
• Respond to emergencies, coordinate with first responders, address key activation issues, and respond to noise complaints.
• May cover another hotel in the area if staffing requires.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
