Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a medical environment supporting doctors.
• Completion of an Optometric Technician training program or CPOT certification.
• Experience with optometry, electronic health records, or medical care.
• Familiar with healthcare technology systems and equipment.
• Professional, compassionate patient care and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between doctor and patient, establishing rapport.
• Perform preliminary clinical data collection (autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil testing, ocular motility, retinal imaging, lensometry).
• Support in-person and video-assisted eye exam appointments.
• Assist new contact lens wearers with insertion/removal training and train others.
• Assist with appointment confirmations and follow-up to ensure seamless visits.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for medical professionals.
• Ensure HIPAA/privacy compliance and proper procedures.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam room and calibrate equipment.
• Support retail team as directed by Store Leader.
