Job summary

Warby Parker seeks an Optometric Technician to work with our optometrists, delivering high-volume eye exam support and pre-testing. You will help with autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, and retinal imaging, while training staff on contact lens insertion/removal and ensuring smooth patient flow.

You will manage data records, assist with reports, and uphold HIPAA/privacy policies in a fast-paced retail environment. Opportunities for career growth and comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a medical environment supporting doctors.
• Completion of an Optometric Technician training program or CPOT certification (Certified Paraoptometric Technician).
• Familiar with healthcare technology systems and equipment (EMR systems, retinal cameras, exam room equipment).
• Working knowledge of G Suite.
• Exceptionally knowledgeable about eyewear and able to describe features/benefits.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between doctor and patient, establishing rapport.
• Perform preliminary clinical data collection (autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, etc.).
• Support in person and video assisted eye exam appointments as available.
• Train team members on insertion/removal training for contact lenses.
• Manage the booking process and ensure seamless appointment experience.
• Maintain organized exam room, replenish supplies, and calibrate equipment.
• Support the retail team as directed by the Store Leader.
