Job summary

Warby Parker is seeking an Optometric Technician to work with our optometrists in a high-volume store environment. You will help with pre-testing, data collection, and training on contact lens insertion/removal, while ensuring accurate records and HIPAA compliance.

You’ll collaborate with doctors, store staff, and patients to deliver a stellar eye care experience and smooth appointment flow, while leveraging healthcare tech and EMR systems.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a medical environment supporting doctors.
• Completion of an Optometric Technician training program or CPOT certification.
• Familiar with healthcare technology and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary liaison between doctor and patient to build rapport.
• Perform preliminary clinical data collection (autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil testing, ocular motility, retinal imaging, lensometry).
• Support in person and video assisted eye exam appointments.
• Train team on insertion/removal training for contact lenses.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with reports to medical professionals.
• Ensure HIPAA/PIPEDA compliance and store procedures.
• Prepare and maintain an organized exam room and replenish supplies.
• Assist retail team as directed by Store Leader.
