Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by performing preliminary tests and measurements. Training will be provided, no optical experience required, with some weekend/evening shifts.

You will help prep patients for exams and ensure a smooth flow through the visit, while learning to use pretest equipment for visual screenings. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, are personable and patient, detail-oriented, and eager to learn about eye care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Friendly, patient demeanor and ability to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, products, and services.
• Healthcare/optical background is helpful but not required, training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document existing conditions, and chart medical history to prep for exam.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff throughout appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with procedures during visits.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide a seamless patient experience.
