Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with preliminary testing and measurements, preparing patients for exams.

No optical experience required; training and tools will be provided to learn about vision care and deliver a best-in-class patient experience. This role may include weekend and evening shifts, reports to the Office General Manager, and offers growth through role-specific training and entry into a rewarding healthcare career in a supportive team

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math.
• Personable, patient and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, products, and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on delivering the best patient experience.
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document existing conditions and medical history to prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff throughout appointment.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures they will be exposed to during appointment.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience.
