Job summary

MyEyeDr. is hiring an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with preliminary testing and measurements. You will help prepare patients for visits, learn pretest procedures, and assist with contact lens training, contributing to a best-in-class patient experience.

Training will be provided; some weekend and evenings shifts are required. A high school diploma or GED is needed, and prior healthcare/optical experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math.
• Personable, patient and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on patient experience.
• Prior healthcare/optical background preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and office staff throughout appointment.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings prior to visiting the doctor.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other testing.
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team to provide seamless patient experience.
