Job summary

Asset Living is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to oversee daily operations and financial functions under the Community Manager. You will manage rent collections, budgeting, and compliance across the housing community onsite.

You will supervise staff, ensure fair housing compliance, and drive marketing, leasing, and resident satisfaction. This role requires strong customer service and property management software skills while supporting risk management and operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years experience in the housing industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to understand and perform all onsite software functions; basic computer skills required.
• Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Post payments and income accurately for applicants, residents, and non-current residents.
• Process and reconcile daily account receivables.
• Monitor bad debt, prepare late notices, contact residents/guarantors, and file evictions.
• Help property meet budgeted revenues, expenses, and Net Operating Income.
• Post charges to resident and non-current accounts; bill back utilities where applicable.
• Perform end-of-month closing procedures and reporting.
• Maintain accurate records and audit resident files.
• Walk units and post move-out charges and security deposit refunds.
• Lead onsite staff, train and coach to ensure policy compliance.
• Implement leasing strategies and ensure leases are signed and documented.
• Handle resident complaints and develop retention programs.
• Show, lease, and move-in prospective residents.
