JB Duke Hotel in Durham, NC seeks a Restaurant Supervisor who thrives on leading from the floor and ensuring exceptional guest service. You will supervise restaurant, bar, and in-room dining operations while mentoring staff and upholding service standards.

Ideal candidates bring 1+ year of restaurant or hotel experience with supervisory skills and a hospitality mindset. Flexible scheduling including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is expected.

Qualifications

• At least one year of restaurant or food and beverage experience; upscale/hotel environment preferred.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; combination with hospitality experience considered.
• Working knowledge of wine, spirits, and alcoholic beverage service preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coach, motivate, train, and support team members while maintaining accountability.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to step in wherever needed.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Genuine commitment to exceptional guest service and hospitality.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership and visible floor supervision across restaurant, bar, and in-room dining operations.
• Ensure guests receive warm, attentive, and efficient service while addressing questions or concerns.
• Support the Restaurant Manager and F&B leadership with daily operational needs.
• Coach, train, and develop team members to meet service and performance standards.
• Foster an engaged and accountable team environment through clear communication and recognition.
• Assist with scheduling and staffing to support business levels and operational needs.
• Ensure staff are knowledgeable about menu offerings, standards, and hotel procedures.
• Identify opportunities to enhance guest experience and increase food and beverage sales.
• Maintain departmental procedures, service standards, and training materials.
• Promote a safe, clean, organized, and professional work environment.
• Support sustainability, recycling, and workplace safety initiatives.
