Job summary

JB Duke Hotel in Durham, NC seeks a Sales Manager to proactively develop new business, grow existing accounts, and build strong client relationships. The role covers the sales cycle from inquiry to contract, coordinating with Conference Services and operations, traveling within markets, and representing the property to the hospitality industry.

Remote candidates located in certain markets may apply; travel to Durham for key events is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of hotel sales experience or related hospitality sales experience.
• Degree, professional certification, or relevant hospitality/sales training preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to prospect for new business, develop client relationships, and contribute toward established revenue and sales goals.
• Strong sales, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Proactively solicit and develop new business within assigned market segments.
• Consistently meet or exceed revenue and sales activity goals.
• Manage the sales process from inquiry through proposal, negotiation, contracting, and follow-up.
• Develop strong, long-term client relationships to generate repeat business and referrals.
• Coordinate with Conference Services, Catering, and hotel operations for seamless transitions to events.
• Maintain accurate client records and sales activity in CRM.
• Provide timely sales reports, forecasts, and updates to leadership.
• Represent JB Duke Hotel professionally within markets and the hospitality industry.
• Travel within assigned markets and to Durham as needed.
