Job summary

Stantec’s Environmental Services Cultural Resources team is hiring archaeology staff to support projects across multiple western offices. The role emphasizes collaboration, field surveys, data collection, and coordination with project managers.

Candidates should have a relevant degree and CRM experience. Travel to field sites may be required, with an emphasis on safety and teamwork in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required.
• 1 year minimum CRM experience.
• Experience with both small and large archaeological crews.
• Completed archaeological field school or demonstrable equivalent training.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Willing to travel up to 2 weeks at a time.
• Familiarity with field applications like Survey123, Collector.
• Specialization in Section 106 compliance on federal lands (preferred).
• Experience working with Native American groups.

Responsibilities

• Directly support archaeological field directors and project managers by assisting with pre-field planning, cultural surveys, and monitoring.
• Exhibit good field skills and can work independently and as part of a crew.
• Participate in identifying and recording areas of archaeological potential, archaeological sites, and traditional use sites.
• Collect appropriate field data.
• Support construction planning.
