Job summary

Stantec is seeking Archaeological staff to join its Environmental Services Cultural Resources Team, supporting projects across multiple western states. You will assist field directions, conduct surveys, and help document sites while traveling as needed.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to Section 106 requirements. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology, CRM experience, and the ability to work in remote field environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology.
• 1 year CRM experience minimum.
• Experience with both small and large archaeological crews.
• Willing to travel up to 2 weeks at a time.
• Proficient with Trimble GPS and related software.
• Completed archaeological field school or demonstrable training.
• Able to perform physically demanding tasks in remote areas.

Responsibilities

• Directly support field directors and project managers with pre-field planning, surveys, and monitoring.
• Work independently or as part of a crew with good field skills.
• Identify and record archaeological potential areas, sites, and traditional use sites.
• Collect appropriate field data.
• Support construction planning.
