Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH company, seeks a Mine Engineering professional to provide technical support for surveying, drilling and blasting, reserve evaluation, and mine planning for permitting and reporting. This role collaborates with operations management to optimize safety, cost and efficiency on Ohio projects.

Responsibilities include drone surveys, boundary and topography work, and use of Carlson Surface Mining and other planning tools, with occasional travel and night/weekend shifts as

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Mine Engineering or Geology.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience with land surveying instruments is a plus.
• Proficiency with mine planning software is required; Carlson is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts inventory surveys using drone and traditional surveying methods.
• Surveys boundaries, limits, and topography for mine planning and property management.
• Prepare phased short, medium, and long term mine plans for operations management.
• Use mine planning software for projects such as overburden plans, reserve estimation, exploration projects, and regulatory documentation.
• Promote and utilize technology, engineering, and other factors affecting costs, safety, and sustainability of mining.
• Serve on subcommittees consisting of employees of other CRH companies and fulfill obligations for projects to improve standards across CRH.
