Job summary

The Shelly Company in Ohio seeks a Mine Engineer to provide technical support for surveying, drilling and blasting, exploration, reserve evaluation, and mine planning for permitting and mining operations. Relocation to Central Ohio is required.

You will use CAD and mine planning software to develop phased short-, mid-, and long-term plans, and support cost, safety, and sustainability initiatives across projects. Travel and nights/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering or Geology or equivalent.
• Three years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with land surveying instruments, CAD, and mine planning software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inventory surveys using drone and traditional surveying methods.
• Survey boundaries, limits, and topography for mine planning and property management.
• Prepare phased short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans for operations management.
• Use mine planning software for projects such as overburden plans, reserve estimation, exploration, and reporting requirements.
• Promote technology and practices affecting costs, safety, and sustainability of surface or underground mining.
• Serve on subcommittees to improve standards across CRH.
