Job summary

The Shelly Company in Ohio is seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to provide technical support for surveying, drilling and blasting, exploration, reserve evaluation, inventory management, and mine design for permitting and mine planning.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or Geology and at least two years of relevant experience; proficiency with Carlson software, CAD, and Drone tools; strong communication; travel willingness; and ability to work nights/weekends.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering, Geology, or related field.
Minimum of two years of relevant experience preferred.
Experience with land surveying instruments is a plus.
Proficiency with mine planning software; Carlson Surface Mining Module preferred.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Conducts inventory surveys using drone and traditional surveying methods.
Surveys various boundaries, limits, and topography for mine planning and property management.
Prepare phased short, medium, and long term mine plans for operations management.
Use mine planning software for various engineering projects such as overburden stripping plans, reserve estimation, exploration projects, and regulatory documentation.
