Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH company, is seeking a Mine Engineer to provide technical support for surveying, drilling, blasting, reserve evaluation, and mine design for permitting and planning.

Relocation to Central Ohio is required. Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or Geology with related experience preferred. Proficiency in CAD and mine planning software is expected, along with strong data interpretation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering, Geology, or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school.
• Three years' related experience preferred.
• Experience with land surveying instruments, CAD, mine planning software preferred.
• Proficient with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Conducts inventory surveys using drone and traditional surveying methods.
• Surveys boundaries, limits, and topography for mine planning and property management.
• Prepare phased short, medium, and long term mine plans for operations management.
• Use mine planning software for overburden stripping plans, reserve estimation, exploration projects, and regulatory documentation.
• Promote and utilize technology and factors affecting costs, safety, and sustainability in mining.
• Serve on subcommittees of CRH companies to improve industry standards.
