Job summary

Westat, Inc. is seeking Field Interviewers to support the MEPS program. FIs conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews with adults in households, using a Westat laptop, and manage scheduling, interview administration, and document collection.

This is a part-time, annual role with two data collection periods (Jan–Jul and Jul–Dec). Training in January 2027 is mandatory, with possible local and overnight travel; 20 hours/week when work is available, plus occasional overtime and travel

Qualifications

• Reside in and travel within project-designated areas to contact assigned households and conduct in-person interviews, including local and overnight travel.
• Be available to work the data collection period, which is expected to extend from January 2027 to December 2030.
• Be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, evenings and weekends when work is available.
• Have a current and valid driver's license that is not under suspension.
• Have a fully insured, reliable vehicle meeting Westat's minimum insurance requirements.
• Be 18 or older and able to sign confidentiality agreements.
• Complete mandatory trainings between January 4–15, 2027 and in-person training January 20–25, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Contact households in-person and by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation.
• Set appointments, conduct interviews, and collect electronic and hard-copy signed documents.
• Transmit data daily when work is performed and comply with data security requirements.
