Job summary

NANA Management Services seeks a Security Officer for Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas in Kotzebue, AK. The role follows a 1 week on, 1 week off rotation and may require on-call work outside normal hours.

A 10-day training in Kotzebue is provided, with lodging and transportation for new hires. Responsibilities include monitoring premises, de-escalation, security checks, reporting, and assisting with events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Pass Alaska background check and pay the Alaska Guard License fee of $97.00 before starting work.
• Must cooperate and work as part of a team with others.
• Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours per shift.
• Contract requires English reading/writing/speaking.
• Must be safety oriented and follow company/client guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Monitors assigned areas visually, electronically, or audibly across facilities and grounds.
• De-escalates situations to ensure safety of employees, customers, and clients.
• Inspects doors, windows and areas to confirm security.
• Reports incidents and data per company policies.
• Assists in event setups and clinic readiness for functions.
• Notifies on-site personnel of visitors wishing to see them.
• Responds to emergencies or disasters to preserve life and property, including fire safety.
• May issue and record ID badges.
• Checks systems (heating, lighting, sprinkling, etc.) to ensure operation.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the department.
