Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass Alaska background check and pay Alaska Guard License fee of $97.
• Must cooperate and work as part of a team.
• Must make quick decisions with minimal supervision.
• Must stand for 8–12 hours per shift.
• Contract requires English proficiency in reading, writing and speaking.
• Must be safety oriented and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Must meet safety guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas visually, electronically, or audibly.
• Ensure safety and compliance by actions of self and others.
• Verbal de-escalation to ensure safety of staff and visitors.
• Inspect doors, windows, and areas to ensure security.
• Report data such as property damage per policy.
• Assist in setting up for events and clinics.
• Warn violators and potentially apprehend or expel violators.
• Notify on-site personnel of visitors.
• Respond to emergencies to preserve life and property.
• May operate safety/life support programs.
