Job summary

NANA Management Services seeks a Security Officer to provide security for Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas in Alaska. The role is a 1 week on, 1 week off rotation and may require on-call work outside normal hours.

A ten‑day training program in Kotzebue, AK is required, with lodging and transportation provided for new hires. Excellent safety focus and customer service are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must pass Alaska background check and obtain Alaska Guard License fee of $97.
• Must cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
• Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
• Must be on your feet for 8-12 hours per shift.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Must be safety oriented as this is a safety sensitive position.
• Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas by visual, electronic, or audible means to maintain security.
• Ensure safety and compliance in all actions.
• Verbally de-escalate situations to protect staff, customers, and clients.
• Inspect doors, windows and other entry points for security.
• Document property damage and incidents per policy.
• Assist in setting up events and preparing clinics for functions.
• Warn violators and may eject them when needed.
• Notify on-site staff of visitors seeking access.
• Respond to emergencies or disasters to preserve life and property.
• May operate safety or life-support computer programs.
• May issue and record ID badges.
• Check systems (heating, lighting, fire, ventilation, etc.) for operation.
• Other duties as assigned.
