Job summary

NANA Management Services is seeking a Security Officer to provide protection for Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas in Kotzebue, AK. The role operates on a 1 week on/1 week off rotation, with possible on-call duties outside normal hours.

New hires undergo a 10-day training in Kotzebue, with lodging and transportation provided. The position emphasizes safety, de-escalation, and proactive security across busy clinic environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must pass State of Alaska background check and pay Alaska Guard License fee of $97 prior to starting work.
• Must cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
• Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
• Must be on your feet for 8–12 hours per shift.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Must be safety oriented and follow all safety guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Personally monitors assigned areas by roving inside facilities, in a vehicle, or at other locations.
• Ensures safety and compliance; de-escalates situations verbally.
• Inspects doors, windows, and other areas to ensure security.
• Reports incidents and records data per company policies.
• Assists with events, moving furniture, and clinic preparations for functions.
• Notifies on-site personnel of visitors seeking access.
