Job summary

NANA Management Services is seeking a Security Officer for Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas in Kotzebue, AK. The role is a 1 week on, 1 week off rotation and may require on-call work outside standard hours.

New hires complete a 10-day training program in Kotzebue with lodging and transportation provided. Responsibilities include monitoring areas, de-escalation, security checks, incident reporting, event support, and emergency response while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Must pass State of Alaska background check and pay Alaska Guard License fee ($97).
• Must cooperate and work as part of a team with others.
• Must make quick decisions with minimal supervision.
• Must stand for 8–12 hours per shift.
• Employee must speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Safety oriented; comply with safety guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas visually, electronically, or audibly in multiple positions.
• Ensure safe actions by self and others; enforce safety compliance.
• De-escalate situations verbally to protect people.
• Inspect doors, windows, and entries to ensure security.
• Record incidents and property data per company policies.
• Assist in events setup and clinic preparation.
• Warn violators and remove them as needed.
• Notify on-site staff of visitors requiring access.
• Respond to emergencies to preserve life and property.
• May operate safety/life-support systems and badge issuance.
• Assist with routine monitoring of security systems.
