Job summary

Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa seeks a Line Cook 2 to prepare high‑quality dishes on a busy hotel kitchen line. You will follow recipes, uphold food safety standards, and contribute to a collaborative culinary team committed to guest satisfaction.

The role requires at least 2 years of relevant experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a luxury resort environment on Amelia Island.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
• Able to work without immediate supervision and collaborate with others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational abilities.
• Basic math skills and understanding of weights and measures.
• Able to follow recipes.
• Unexpired Food Handlers certificate or obtain on hire.
• Work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with delegated tasks.
• Culinary degree and/or formal training is strongly preferred.
• Able to lift, push, pull and carry moderate weight.
• Able to stand/walk for extended periods with bending and twisting.
• Able to use culinary tools (knives, equipment) and taste/smell.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently prepare all food items as directed by supervisor and according to specifications.
• Show knowledge of culinary fundamentals and techniques.
• Work on outlet hot/cold line and execute menu items within timelines.
• Stay organized with prep sheets and station guides for service readiness.
• Use culinary equipment properly and safely.
• Present dishes that meet specifications.
• Communicate effectively with team members.
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude in stressful situations.
• Attend monthly department meetings and training sessions.
• Complete duties assigned by management.
• Work on a restaurant Line.
• Assist with basic knife skills and vegetable cuts.
