Job summary
Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineer to drive identification, piloting and deployment of automation technologies across distribution centers.
You will collaborate with operations, IT, and solution design teams to validate concepts, scale successful pilots and integrate new capabilities into customer solutions. The role requires hands-on project management, data analytics, and strong communication to align stakeholders and deliver measurable improvements while supporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Master’s degree preferred with relevant warehouse automation focus.
- 3+ years in warehouse automation, material handling or related systems.
- Experience with various automation technologies and data analytics.
- Knowledge of CAD, simulation, WMS and labor management tools.
- Strong ROI, cost justification and vendor assessment capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead minor RFPs and support major bids by guiding automation selection and ROI analysis.
- Validate vendor FSD/SOW gaps and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Contribute to design validation, cost effectiveness and SLA targets.
- Support automation procurement and vendor reviews for quotes and options.
- Manage smaller projects across milestones and ensure on-site readiness.
- Perform data analysis to support optimization and SAT testing; track punch lists.
