Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineer to identify, pilot, deploy and optimize automation technologies across diverse warehouse environments. The role works with operations, IT and product teams to demonstrate value and feasibility, driving competitive differentiation.

Responsibilities include leading small RFP support, validating vendor scopes, ensuring design and performance alignments, and managing on-site implementation activities with cross-functional partners. Travel is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Master's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
3+ years in warehouse automation, material handling tech, industrial engineering or warehouse systems integration.
2+ years in warehouse automation experience preferred.
Knowledge of automation technologies including sortation, autonomous vehicles and AS/RS is required.

Responsibilities

Lead automation selection and validation on new business sale projects.
Support automation project leads on vendor FSD/SOW validation.
Provide input on automation designs ensuring operational performance and cost effectiveness.
Lead procurement collateral for vendor tech reviews and RFQs.
Manage smaller implementation projects and track milestones and punch lists.
Coordinate on-site support and SAT testing; ensure timely on-site communications.
