Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineering professional to evaluate, pilot, and deploy advanced automation technologies across client warehouses.

You will collaborate with operations, IT, product teams and vendors to validate concepts, develop ROI analyses, and drive implementation from pilot to production. Responsibilities include project management of smaller automation efforts, ensuring design and procurement alignment, and delivering data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
• 3+ years in warehouse automation, material handling technologies, industrial engineering or warehouse systems integration.
• 2+ years in warehouse automation experience preferred.
• Knowledge of warehouse management operations, data analytics, Lean methods.
• Experience with material handling equipment and automation types.
• Industrial or Mechanical Engineering background or equivalent warehouse knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation selection and validation on new business projects by identifying potential automation technologies and building ROI justifications.
• Support automation project leads on SOW validation and gap analysis.
• Provide design input to ensure operational performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Assist in automation procurement and vendor reviews for quotes and options.
• Oversee smaller project management tasks and track milestones and punch lists.
• Coordinate SAT testing and post-go-live support and escalation handling.
• Profile data from dashboards to support system optimization projects.
• Review team strategy with manager and track project budgets.
