Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineer to identify, pilot, and deploy innovative automation technologies across warehouses.

You will work with operations, IT, and solution design teams to demonstrate value and feasibility, accelerating adoption of efficient automation solutions. The role requires collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders to define pilots, validate designs, and drive continuous improvement in warehouse operations, with frequent cross-regional

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Master's degree preferred in Industrial Engineering or related field.
3+ years in warehouse automation, material handling technologies or warehouse systems integration.
Experience in warehouse automation technologies (sortation, AS/RS, autonomous vehicles) preferred.
Knowledge of CAD, WMS, data analytics and Lean methods.

Responsibilities

Lead automation technology selection and ROI justification for new business opportunities.
Validate vendor FSD/SOW gaps and support design validation.
Oversee design options considering clearance, power, cost and SLA targets.
Assist with automation procurement and vendor reviews.
Manage smaller projects and tracking milestones for implementation.
Coordinate SAT testing and post-go-live punch list items.
Analyze data to optimize system performance and drive improvements.
Communicate strategy and track budget with project leads.
