U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Lead Medical Support Assistant in a primary care, specialty, and mental health outpatient setting. Roles span Clinic Based Outpatient Clinics, inpatient units, and patient-aligned care teams with possible telework not available.

The incumbent will monitor operations, supervise scheduling, train staff, and coordinate care delivery; work week is Mon-Fri with specific hours, in-person in New York facilities, GS-7 level eligibility applies.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for Federal employment as described for the position.
• Education recognition per US Department of Education guidance; no substitutions for GS-7.
• Experience in scheduling, clinic operations, and staff supervision is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Monitor daily operations, assign work, balance workloads and maintain efficient workflow.
• Ensure coverage for all areas and create/maintain employee work schedules.
• Train new and current staff; coordinate scheduling deliverables and supervise workflow changes.
• Liaise among Medical Support Assistants, clinical staff, patients and supervisors.
• Track workload for consults, recalls, and care coordination; support encounter management and registrations.
