Job summary

Pearson is seeking an experienced editor to join our Assessment & Qualifications team in a full-time capacity. The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, at least three years of editorial experience, and two years in educational assessment.

You will apply Chicago and other style guides, ensure consistency, and support publishing workflows. You will work with Adobe Acrobat, Office 365 apps, and basic HTML/XML for web publishing, while mentoring colleagues and collaborating across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification/on-the-job training.
• Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ experience in educational assessment.
• Strong end‑to‑end copyediting proficiency across spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and usage.
• Confidence applying major style guidelines (Chicago, Gregg, Garner’s) and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, and style per department, client, and industry standards.
• Ensures uniformity across assessment components and identifies errors throughout the workday.
• Queries deviations from client style guidelines and may create/modify client style guidelines.
• Leads editorial activities and coordinates with other departments; mentors when appropriate.
• Proactively seeks learning opportunities to strengthen editorial expertise and adopt best practices.
