Job summary

Pearson is seeking an experienced editor to lead editorial activities for assessment content. You will apply style guides, ensure consistency across components, and mentor team members. The role emphasizes collaboration across Editorial, Content, and IT platforms, with a focus on quality and accessibility.

You will work with Pearson‑preferred tools (ABBI, eStyle, Oracle) and contribute to publishing workflows, while leveraging AI-supported content development with editorial oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification/training.
• 3+ years editorial experience and 2+ years in educational assessment.
• Strong end-to-end copyediting proficiency across spelling, grammar, punctuation and usage.
• Confident in applying major style guides (Chicago, Gregg, Garner’s).
• Proficient with Adobe Acrobat and MS Office 365 apps; basic HTML/XML for publishing.

Responsibilities

• Implements and enforces grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, style per guidelines.
• Ensures uniformity across assessment components and identifies errors.
• Queries deviations from client style and may modify guidelines.
• Leads copyediting scope and mentors colleagues when needed.
• Seeks continual editorial learning and applies best practices.
