Job summary

Pearson is seeking an experienced editor to lead editorial efforts for assessment content. You will enforce grammar, spelling, and style per industry standards and ensure consistency across components across projects. You will mentor colleagues and collaborate across departments to maintain high quality and accuracy.

The role emphasizes end‑to‑end editorial proficiency, strong communication, and adaptability to evolving publishing workflows and AI‑enabled processes.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification/on‑the‑job training.
• 3+ years editorial experience and 2+ years in educational assessment.
• Demonstrates end‑to‑end copyediting proficiency across spelling, grammar, punctuation, and usage.
• Confidently applies major style guides (Chicago Manual of Style, Gregg, Garner’s, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, and style per standards.
• Ensures uniformity across assessment components and identifies errors.
• Queries deviations from client style to achieve best outcomes; may modify client style guidelines.
• Understands editorial scope and flags concerns when needed.
• Seeks learning opportunities to strengthen editorial expertise.
