Job summary

Pearson is seeking an experienced editor to lead editorial tasks and ensure high-quality assessment content. The role involves applying style guides, maintaining consistency, and collaborating across Editorial, Asset Services, Content, and Pearson teams.

You will contribute to training, process documentation, and quality assurance while leveraging AI-enabled editorial tools to enhance content development and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ educational assessment experience.
• Demonstrates strong end‑to‑end copyediting proficiency: spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, diction, and usage.
• Interprets and applies major style and usage references (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, Gregg Reference Manual, Garner’s Modern English Usage).
• Proficient with ABBI, eStyle, Oracle and related publishing workflows; understands XML issues and publishing processes.

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, and style per department, client, and industry standards; applies rules consistently.
• Ensures uniformity and consistency across assessment components; identifies errors throughout the workday with minimal mistakes.
• Follows client style guidelines; queries deviations and may create/modify client style guidelines.
• Understands copyeditor's scope and flags concerns when needed; seeks learning opportunities to strengthen editorial expertise.
• Coordinates with teams and mentors others; develops training materials and shares knowledge.
