Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Director, Technology Strategy & Execution (IT PMO) to shape the portfolio and maximize strategic value. This remote role manages a complex IT initiative portfolio, ensuring on-time, on-scope, and on-budget delivery while ensuring the business case is met and long-term value is realized.

The role leads a high-performing PMO, champions proactive risk management, and partners with senior leadership to align investments with enterprise goals.

Qualifications

• 10-12+ years of IT project/program management experience, with 5+ years in people leadership preferred.
• Proven track record of evolving a PMO from execution to value-driven.
• Planview experience preferred.
• Experience designing governance or shift-left processes (pre-project sizing, demand shaping).
• Strong relationship-building and executive stakeholder influence.
• Leadership in building high-performing teams and coaching talent.
• PMP or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Champion IT PMO strategy and portfolio alignment to drive strategic business value.
• Lead adoption of Planview and AI-driven insights for proactive decision-making.
• Build a future-ready workforce through coaching and mentorship of project managers.
• Drive shift-left processes to ensure new work is well-scoped and strategically aligned.
• Foster a high-trust culture, elevate risks, and drive accountability.
• Partner with senior leadership on enterprise-wide risks and resource constraints.
• Collaborate with procurement to maximize value and vendor accountability.
• Negotiate and influence across diverse stakeholders to maintain alignment.
