Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a seasoned IT PMO Director to shape the portfolio value and maximize strategic impact. The role oversees a broad IT initiative portfolio, ensuring projects meet time, scope, and budget targets while delivering measurable business outcomes.

Remote-friendly with occasional travel to HQ. The ideal candidate will lead with strategic focus, drive adoption of Planview and AI insights, and mentor a high-performing PMO team across functions.

Qualifications

• 10–12+ years in IT project/program management with 5+ years in people leadership.
• Experience managing large IT programs and evolving a PMO from execution to value-driven.
• Planview experience is preferred but not required.
• Front-end governance, pre-project sizing, demand shaping, and strategic capacity management.
• Strong relationship-building, leadership, and executive stakeholder influence.
• PMP or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Champion IT PMO strategy and portfolio alignment to drive strategic business value.
• Lead adoption of Planview and AI-driven insights for proactive decision-making.
• Develop and coach a future-ready PMO workforce with critical thinking and ambiguity tolerance.
• Drive shift-left processes for pre-project estimation and business-case planning.
• Foster a high-trust culture, elevate risks and dependencies, and ensure governance.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to assess enterprise risks and resource constraints.
• Manage technology investments with vendors and strategic partnerships.
• Negotiate and influence across diverse stakeholder groups.
