Job summary

Five Below in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Interim Support Lead to help deliver an outstanding shopping experience. You will assist with front end operations, cash management, merchandising, and safety, while stepping in as Manager on Duty during shifts.

This temporary role offers leadership exposure, training responsibilities, and the chance to drive store sales while supporting the store leadership team. A high school diploma and at least one year of management experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• College experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Wowing the Customer through personal contact with customers.
• Trains the crew on the BEST customer service experience; ensuring that each guest has a fast, friendly checkout experience.
• Oversee daily activities of store associates and ensure they perform duties effectively and provide excellent customer service.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock for quick placement on the floor.
• Act as Manager on Duty, taking full responsibility for store operations, staff management, and customer service.
• Open or close the store, securing cash, locking doors, and setting alarms for smooth daily operations.
• Support onboarding and ongoing training of associates on policies, product knowledge, and procedures.
• Drive store sales and control expenses by optimizing merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
• Partner with store leadership on merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
• Perform store maintenance such as cleaning, stock room upkeep, and bathrooms.
