Kin Insurance is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to own drafting for personal auto or property forms across states. The role anchors the line, handles regulatory review, and advises internal teams on policy wording and coverage interpretation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of policy form drafting experience, or equivalent combining drafting and coverage interpretation.
• Experience drafting personal lines policy forms for multiple states.
• Ability to read state statutes/regulations and convert them into policy language.
• Experience drafting regulator objections responses for form filings.
• Ability to advise internal partners on coverage interpretation and form wording.
• Proven track record delivering complete forms packages from research to filing-ready.

Responsibilities

• Draft base policies, endorsements, state amendatory endorsements, and required notices for your line of business.
• Perform first-pass legal review of forms and escalate novel state law questions.
• Provide legal advice on coverage interpretation to internal teams (Claims, Product, Customer Experience).
• Review and guide form wording to ensure regulatory compliance during DOI audits and market conduct exams.
• Design and deliver internal training on policy forms, coverage interpretation, and regulatory expectations.
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business to avoid single points of failure.
