Job summary

Kin is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to lead drafting for personal auto or property, as Kin expands into new states and products through 2027. You’ll own form drafting for your line, advise on policy wording, and review regulator objections with a focus on regulatory compliance and high-quality filings.

You will collaborate with Claims, Product, and Customer Experience, ensuring forms meet statutory requirements and internal standards. Remote-first with focus on multi-state coverage.

Qualifications

• JD required and 5+ years of policy form drafting experience
• Experience drafting personal lines policy forms for multiple states
• Ability to read state statutes and translate requirements into policy language
• Experience drafting regulator objections responses and advising on coverage interpretation
• Track record drafting complete forms packages independently

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes and translate into compliant policy wording
• Draft responses to regulator objections and advocate for Kin's positions
• Provide legal advice on coverage interpretation and form wording to internal teams
• Draft complete new state and product forms packages for your line
• Perform first-pass legal reviews and escalate novel state law questions
• Build and maintain base forms and state kits for your line
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language for efficiency
• Design and deliver internal training on policy forms and regulatory expectations
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business
• Identify legal risks early in product design and changes
• Review AI-assisted drafts for accuracy and regulatory compliance
