Job summary

Kin Insurance seeks an Insurance Counsel - Forms to draft policy language for personal auto and property as Kin expands into new states and products. You’ll own form drafting, research statutes, and respond to regulator objections.

You’ll be the drafting owner for your line and back-up for the other, collaborating with Claims, Product, and Compliance to ensure filing-ready forms. Join a remote-first team building clear, compliant forms across multiple states, with opportunities to influence

Qualifications

• JD required and 5+ years of policy form drafting experience.
• Experience drafting personal lines policy forms for multiple states.
• Ability to read state statutes/regulations and translate into policy language.
• Draft responses to regulator objections on form filings.
• Advise internal partners on coverage interpretation and form wording.
• Track record of independently delivering complete forms packages.

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes and regulations and translate into compliant policy wording.
• Draft responses to regulator objections on form filings and advocate Kin's position.
• Provide coverage interpretation guidance to internal teams (Claims, Product, Customer Experience).
• Draft new state and product forms packages (base policies, endorsements, notices).
• Perform first-pass legal review and escalate novel state law questions to Senior Insurance Counsel.
• Maintain countrywide base forms and state kits for your line of business.
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language to speed up state packages.
• Deliver internal training on policy forms and regulatory expectations.
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business.
