Job summary

Kin Insurance seeks an Insurance Counsel - Forms to draft policy language for personal auto or property as Kin expands into new states. You will anchor your line, advise on coverage interpretation, and review forms for regulatory compliance while supporting other lines as needed.

You will collaborate with Claims, Product, and Customer Experience, develop reusable language, and help establish drafting standards to speed up future state filings.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) required with 5+ years of policy form drafting experience.
• Experience drafting personal lines policy forms for multiple states.
• Experience reading state insurance statutes and regulations directly and converting requirements into policy language.
• Experience drafting responses to regulator objections on form filings.
• Experience advising business stakeholders on coverage interpretation and policy wording.
• Track record of drafting complete forms packages independently, from initial research to filing-ready.

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes and regulations and translate them into compliant policy wording.
• Draft responses to Department of Insurance objections on forms and advocate Kin's position with regulators.
• Provide legal advice on coverage interpretation and form wording to internal partners.
• Draft complete state and product forms packages for your line of business, ready for filing.
• Perform first-pass legal review of forms and elevate novel state law questions to Senior Insurance Counsel.
• Build and maintain countrywide base forms and state kits for your line of business.
