Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to own and draft policy forms for personal auto or property lines across multiple states. You will translate statutes into filing-ready policy language and advise internal teams on coverage interpretation and regulatory compliance.

The role supports state expansions, collaborates with Claims, Product, and Underwriting, and leads first-pass legal review of forms while managing risk for Kin’s product offerings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of policy form drafting experience or equivalent in coverage interpretation.
• Experience drafting personal auto or property forms for multiple states.
• Experience responding to regulator objections and handling DOI audits.
• Ability to advise internal partners on coverage interpretation and policy wording.

Responsibilities

• Draft complete new state and product forms packages for your line of business, including base policies, endorsements, state amendatory endorsements, and required notices, ready for filing.
• Provide legal guidance on coverage interpretation and form wording to internal teams like Claims, Product, and Customer Experience.
• Review AI-assisted drafts for regulatory compliance and establish guardrails for AI usage.
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business to ensure no launch is bottlenecked.
