Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to own personal auto or property form drafting for new state launches. You will translate statutes into filing-ready policy language and advise business partners on coverage and regulatory questions. You’ll draft state/product form packages and support audits, with ongoing updates as statutes evolve.

You’ll join a remote-first team, anchor a line, and serve as backup for the other line, ensuring launches never depend on a single drafter.

Qualifications

• JD required with 5+ years drafting policy forms.
• Experience drafting personal auto or property state forms.
• Ability to translate statutes into policy language for filing.
• Draft responses to regulator objections and audits.
• Advise internal partners on coverage interpretation.
• Develop complete state/product forms packages independently.

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes and regulations and translate into compliant policy wording.
• Draft responses to DOI objections and advocate Kin's position with regulators.
• Provide legal advice on coverage interpretation to internal partners.
• Draft complete new state and product forms packages for your line.
• Perform first-pass legal review of forms and elevate novel questions to Senior Counsel.
• Maintain base forms and state kits for your line across the country.
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language for faster future packages.
• Design and deliver internal training on Kin's policy forms and regulatory expectations.
