Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Inside Sales Rep to be the face of the store, delivering friendly customer service and product guidance. You will help customers with information, estimates, and transactions, and support the Outside Sales Reps as needed.

You will also engage in follow-ups on online quotes and cold calls to qualify new leads, with training provided on products and the POS system. Salary is combined with commission, offering uncapped earning potential.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or customer service.
• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with building materials is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist in-store, sharing product information and advice.
• Provide estimates for packages/projects and process transactions.
• Follow up on online quotes and cold-call to qualify new leads.
• Support Outside Sales Reps and assist in inventory control (cycle counts, shortages/overages).
