Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Inside Sales Rep to be the face of the store, help customers in person, and drive sales. You’ll provide product information, prepare estimates, and process transactions while following up on quotes and qualifying new leads.

The role offers a salary plus commission with uncapped earnings, with growth opportunities within a family-owned company that values honesty and people-first culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or customer service.
• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Effective communication skills.
• Team player capable of supporting sales goals.
• Familiarity with building materials is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers who walk in with product information and advice.
• Share product information and help customers choose suitable solutions.
• Produce estimates for packages/projects and process transactions.
• Follow up on online quotes and qualify new leads via cold calling.
• Support Outside Sales Reps and assist in inventory control (cycle counts, shortages/overages).
