Cedars-Sinai is seeking an experienced Hospital Inpatient Coder to join our clinical documentation integrity team in Oklahoma City. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, determine DRG sequencing, and ensure accurate capture for MS-DRG/APR-DRG classifications.

Responsibilities include abstracting data into the health information systems (EPIC CS-Link, HB/PB, Solventum), collaborating with the CDI team to resolve complex cases, and identifying opportunities to improve documentation with physicians,

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of 3 years’ inpatient coding experience.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS coding.
• Knowledge of MS-DRG and APR-DRG systems.
• Experience with SDOH, HCC, and severity indicators.
• Ability to abstract data into EHR/encoding systems.
• Strong collaboration with CDI team and physicians.

Aufgaben

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes by reviewing documentation per coding guidelines.
• Identify principal diagnoses, comorbidities, and determine code sequencing to represent the DRG.
• Maintain knowledge of MS-DRG and APR-DRG classifications.
• Capture data for SDOH, HCC, and severity indicators.
• Abstract data into EPIC CS-Link, EPIC HB/PB, Solventum, and other systems.
• Collaborate with the CDI team to align coding approaches with clinical documentation.
• Identify opportunities for documentation improvement with physicians.
