Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking an Hospital Inpatient Coder to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient stays, review documentation, and determine DRG sequencing. The role supports CDI collaboration and uses EPIC and related systems for coding accuracy.

You will abstract data for reporting, ensure timely coding, and contribute to documentation improvement initiatives across the Cedars-Sinai Health System.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of healthcare coding experience.
• Must hold coding certifications (RHIT/RHIA/CPC/CCS/CSSP).
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS and code sequencing.

Responsibilities

• Assign codes (ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS) from documentation.
• Review health records and ensure accuracy for DRG assignment.
• Abstract data elements for reporting and statistics.
• Collaborate with CDI team to align coding approaches and improve documentation.
