Job summary

Cedars Sinai is seeking a Hospital Inpatient Coder to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes from medical records, determine DRG representative of the stay, and ensure complete coding profiles. You will work with EPIC systems and CDI teammates to maximize accuracy and reporting quality.

The role requires 3+ years of coding experience, relevant certifications, and exposure to MS-DRG/APR-DRG methodologies, with a focus on documentation improvement and compliance.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of healthcare coding experience.
• Professional certifications listed upon hire are required.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes per guidelines.
• Identify principal diagnosis, comorbidities, and determine DRG sequencing.
• Abstract data elements for reporting and statistical capture.
• Collaborate with CDI team to align clinical and coding approaches.
