Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Hospital Inpatient Coder to assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes with attention to MS-DRG/APR-DRG guidelines. You will review documentation, abstract data for reporting, and collaborate with the CDI team to ensure complete coding accuracy. Strong knowledge of EPIC and Solventum is expected.

The role emphasizes accurate coding, documentation improvement opportunities, and timely data entry across coding systems within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ healthcare coding experience.
• RHIT/RHIA/CPC/CCS/CCSP certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes per guidelines.
• Identify principal diagnoses and comorbidities for DRG calculation.
• abstracts data for reporting and works with CDI team to ensure accuracy.
• Utilize EPIC (CS-Link), Solventum, and related systems for coding tasks.
