Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and determine DRG sequencing for inpatient stays. You will review documentation, ensure accuracy, and support statistical reporting across the Cedars-Sinai Health System.

Responsibilities include maintaining MS-DRG/APR-DRG knowledge, collaborating with the CDI team, and abstracting data for health system reporting. Remote options may apply for eligible states.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience coding in healthcare settings.
• Must have RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CCS, or CCS-P on hire.
• High school diploma or GED required; strong ICD-10-CM/PCS knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes from medical documentation.
• Identify principal diagnosis, comorbidities and DRG sequencing.
• Maintain knowledge of MS-DRG and APR-DRG concepts.
• Abstract data elements for reporting and statistics in the system.
• Collaborate with CDI team to align clinical and coding approaches.
