Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Hospital Inpatient Coder to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes by reviewing documentation and determining DRG sequencing. The role supports MS-DRG and APR-DRG knowledge, and works with the CDI team to ensure complete coding profiles.

Responsibilities include data abstraction in EPIC CS-Link/Solventum and collaboration with physicians to improve documentation. This role can be performed remotely from approved states, including Texas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience coding in a healthcare setting.
• Certification: RHIT/RHIA/CPC/CCS or CCS-P required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes reviewing documentation.
• Identify principal diagnosis, comorbidities, and DSOH; determine sequencing.
• Abstract data into systems like EPIC CS-Link and Solventum.
• Collaborate with CDI team on complex clinical scenarios.
• Support documentation improvement opportunities with physicians.
