Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer 2 to join a project team focusing on detailed electrical design and project management for high voltage substations. You will participate in conceptualization, planning, and execution, while addressing engineering challenges and preparing clear reports for clients.

The role supports hybrid work with three days in the office and two remote days, and relocation assistance is available depending on location.

Qualifications

• Requires BS degree with preference for Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace/Chemical engineering and related coursework including Coding and 3D Modeling.
• Experience using agentic AI and ability to visualize 3D parts without CAD.
• 1+ years experience in the power or electric utility industry.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget/time constraints.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience reviewing design drawings.
• MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Take active role in project conceptualization, planning and execution.
• Support challenging engineering assignments and troubleshooting.
• Prepare reports presenting technical and project information.
• Share knowledge through Communities of Practice.
• May travel to client sites as needed.
